Hi, It has been awhile since I have had a chance to visit with all my friends. I hopes everyone had a Meowy ChrisMouse. I had a very nice one even IF Santa did bring us another DOG. Her name is Tuiren and she is a tri-color Beagle.

Do any of you have plans for New Years?  I thinks it would be fabulous to have a party at our club. It has been ages since we have done anything together. ~Scylla (Alasandra, The Cats & Dogs)

MoMo Needs Our Prayers

Graphic by Zoolatry
MoMo is having surgery. The vet suspects cancer but we are keeping our paws crossed that it is something easily treatable and that MoMo will be coming home to SS.

Update:  MoMo is home from the Vet (what wonderful news) but she did have a tumor in her mouth that extended into her esophagus and still needs lots of healing purrs. We are sending lots of pawsitive thoughts that the tumor is benign and MoMo will be with us for a long time to come.

Remembering Molly

Lovely MeeMoll

The lovely MeeMoll passed away on 25th March 2011. She enjoyed being held; she always had something to say; and she was predisposed to the charming belly sashay (this all sounds strangely familiar). Mary, we'll be thinking of you, Molly, and everyone who knew this gorgeous gal on Sunday. We will raise a glass to you and to all our loved ones no longer with us.

Gracie - joined March 2012
A message from Gracie's Staff:

As soon as we went into the room where Gracie was at the Animal Shelter, she came out from under something and started meowing at us and rubbing against our ankles. We picked her up, sat on a bench, and put her on our laps, where she started purring and rubbing against us. We knew we had found our kitty.

"Because their sense of security is linked to their territorial instinct, cats make mental maps of their personal space. It may take a cat cartographer as long as six months before he feels he can settle down comfortably in a new home." (365 Cats calendar). I am sure that is true of many cats, but it was not true of Gracie. As soon as we let hour out of the carrier, she happily went exploring. She seemed thrilled to be in her new home. Or, maybe she was thrilled to be home again.

When we are cutting or preparing raw vegetables on the kitchen counter, Gracie nearly always comes to us and begs for some of what we are preparing. However, if we do give her something (harmless), such as celery, she never eats it. Gracie does like to lick the insides of our breakfast cereal bowls (as long as we are using Gracie-approved bowls) when we are done with them.

Gracie often likes to dip her paw in her water bowl and lick the water off her paw. In addition, she will often play in her water bowl, splashing water out. When she does this, she often splashes out so much water that we moved her water bowl into the bathtub. This is not a problem for her, because she can easily get into the bathtub!

Gracie's name comes from three sources: A. Gracie Allen (the wife of George Burns), B. a nice little shop dog Ron met in an antique shop in Lakeland, Florida, C. Ron's mother's middle name, Grace. She also has the nickname, Little Miss Thunder Paws as she is speedy on those little legs.

For Lady Saffron

Goodbye to a dainty, demure Lady Of Autumn

Our lovely, little darling had been poorly for a while. Within the last hour this message was posted by Hannah on our Facebook Group Page:

Dear Ladies of Autumn, I am so sorry to have to tell you that one of your members Lady Saffron today went over the rainbow. Her condition had got worse and she could hardly walk. So a hard decision was made. She was always demure and lady like and will be sorely missed by all her family :(
--- We will miss you dreadfully, Lady Saffron. We will always think of you daintily perched on the arm of a chair watching the world go by with serene grace. Always in our hearts, pretty lady.

Happy Birthday, Josey!

But she don't do parties. She does chillin', Josey style.

Many happy returns of the day, pretty lady. I hope your day is filled with love, treats and the twenty three and a half hours sleep you crave. You are a shining light to me, I aspire to immerse myself in a level of slumber on a par with yours.

Samantha - joined February 2012

Hi everyone, my name is Samantha. I was a six week old kitten on life support when my meow ma found me at her vet’s office. A human had thrown me into a trash can. I was so cute and helpless that she adopted me on the spot and I went to live with her and my two sisters Lily and Charlotte. You should know that I am a very serious cat with a big responsibility. I am a watch cat. In fact, at my house I am known as Sam the Watcher, because I am on guard constantly against threats, real and perceived to my territory and my possessions. Chipmunks, birds, dogs, people no matter, trespassing in not allowed on my watch and heaven forbid if you touch any of my things without permission. Don’t get the wrong idea, I am a lovely purrson and I hope you will come by for a visit real soon. Just remember when you do, you can look but don’t touch anything… please. It makes me twitch.

Lily Le Mew

Lily Le Mew - joined February 2012

Hello!  My name is Lily Le Mew, but you can just call me Lily.  I live with my mommy and daddy in Kaysville, Utah.  My daddy found me at work, after having been living behind a hotel.  Now I have my own home with a big back yard where I am such a good hunter!  I love seafood, cheese, and my favorite toy ever da Bird.  You can read about me and my adventures on my blog at

Happy 2nd Birthday, Miss Elvira!

This refined Lady Of Autumn sure knows how to strike an elegant birthday pose!

And she is not backwards in coming forwards either. She is more than just a great looking feline, she'll have you know. The Mistress of Felinity states, "You can call me Miss Elvira for short, just don't call me late for dinner, treats, a nap, or a snooze!"  We hope you have a great day, little lady. I reckon we could all learn a thing or two from you!

Who is this little stunner?

It's Kallie Kitty & it's her birthday. Woo-hoo!

Here she is, our lovely little Lady Of Autumn, Kallie Kitty. Darling, I've procured some of those elusive red squirrels from Brownsea Island for you to watch from the comfort of a cozy perch on your special day. Enjoy. Also, I've imported a boat load of feathered toys as I've heard on the grapevine that you're a bit partial to these. Anything else you require to celebrate your birthday in style, just fax me.

Scooby Doo Norris

Scooby - joined January 2012
Hello furriendz! My name is Scooby Doo Norris. I found meh home when I was very little. I was lost and very hungry, and I stumbled into nice yard with a mom lady, a little boy and another tortie. I gave them my most adorable look, and decided that they were cool enough for me. I have let them wait on me for about 14 years. My big sisfur Spencer went to the Rainbow Bridge almost 4 years ago, and we all miss her, but mom fosters lots of kittehs, so I have friends. I love tuna, sunbaths and catnip, and watching my human brother play X-Box. I hate the vacuum cleaner, the cat carrier and the vet. I am a kitty reporter and write columns and interviews in some facebook groups, and I love being a member of the Ladies of Autumn! Purrs to you all!

Tulula - joined January 2012
Good day ladies, my name is Tulula and I am a female 6 year old calico princess who has only just found my new forever home. For the most part I have had a very happy life living with my first human who was elderly and unfortunately passed away a few weeks ago. That was a very sad time for me because I was very scared and confused when I was taken from the only home I knew and placed in an animal shelter.
But my dark days did not last long as a family friend who always loved me found out that I was in a shelter and came rushing to my rescue.
21/01/2011 is the day I came to live in my new forever home with my new mumsy that loves me so very much she said that her heart is bursting with love for me. I am still a little scared of my new environment but at the same time my curious nature makes it all equally as exciting.
My new mumsy also got me a twitter @tulula6 but we have to share her Facebook page :D
I am happy once again and feel very safe.... ♥

Happy Birthday, Rosie!

Many Happy Returns Of The Day, Beautiful Girl!

Here she is, the lady of the moment, Rosie, complete with her super-model good looks and fancy white-striped tail. Rosie was found in a car park, aged approximately eight weeks. As her devoted Staff did not know when Rosie was born, I had the great honour of stabbing a calendar whilst blindfolded (don't try this at home, kids) and choosing the day upon which to celebrate Rosie's genesis. Today. The 22nd. Quack! Quack! Two little ducks.

Jazz - joined January 2012
Born on the 30th October 2003, I'm almost a Halloween cat, but as a Tortie that would have been inappropriate, and I was raised to be a lady. My first home was with a lovely older lady who treated me marvelously, while allowing me my personal space. We did not display our emotions in an untoward fashion, but enjoyed the comfort of knowing the other was there. When my lovely lady went over the Rainbow Bridge I was entreated to train two young furless the way to serve a cat. Unfortunately their continuous sneezing upset my nap patterns & I requested more equitable accommodations. The inadequacy of the biped nation was highlighted when they suggested I live in a concrete cage with a nasty grey little fluffy cat with sharing issues. The ignominy of ending up in this situation on my 8th birthday is a scar I will carry for life. Four weeks would pass before humum & dada staff would take me home. They made we wait two weeks after meeting me & accepting my love, so that I could move into an air conditioned abode. These people understand standards. They subject me to a pipsqueak calico called Captain Worm-Sparrow of all things, but I'll whip her into shape...... eventually. Anyway her silly antics, which are beneath me, cheers humum, which is often desperately needed.

Humum types collectively for myself & The worm on twitter. We love our anipals and were so excited to join the #wlf & get our beret. Finally The Ladies of Autumn is something I can have for myself, as The Worm is currently no lady!

The staff are slowly realizing my needs, I have a lovely new condo, with caves for me, separated from perches for The Worm, finally I am being fed real game, though they leave that dried stuff out too, just cause it says science. I like to sleep between humum & dadstaff with TheWorm banished, which dada staff prefers too. Once The Worm can be contained, cause she has no self-control, I'll be out on one of the three balconies sunning myself in time for winter. For now I shall enjoy the moderated in-door temps, soft furnishings & food, while tolerating the bipeds adoration.

I introduce myself to you - Jazz, Jazzmina, Jazzy, Pretty Girl

Belle - joined January 2012
Mom "rescued" me on 12/31/11.  Her daughter knew the daughter of my owner, who wants to get rid of her pets.  We lived in a house with 10 humans, including 2 babies, a dog and several cats who are neglected.  They don't get the cats spayed so they keep having kittens.  There is no love in this home for animals and no toys.  After Autumn died, Mom was allowed to bring one pet into her apartment.  Her daughter had told her how affectionate I am, so they came and got me.  I had fleas and worms, but was otherwise healthy, luckily.

I now live in a home where there is love, and a houseful of toys!  Mom bought a new kitty condo after she brought me home.  Phoebe and I get along well and chase each other all over the apartment!  I love it here!

I almost forgot!  I'm a polydactyl!  I have 7 toes on each front paw.  Mom's not sure about my back paws cos I won't let her see them!

Hello. My name is Twinky and I live in March near Cambridge in UK.
I am 7 yrs old and 4 yrs ago I was rescued from the RSPCA after I was hit by a car and broke both my back legs.
I live with my mum, dad and sister Mia in the lap of luxury. I expect and demand the highest level of affection and care and cannot be expected to manage on anything less than 21 hours of sleep a day.
I love my home and my family. But I am a creature of habit and will not accept any form of intruder within the grounds of the family estate. I have a busy schedule so I expect dinner times to be prompt. X

Happy Birthday to Isabella!

Many happy returns of the day, pretty girl!

Yes, 'tis the special day of Daddy's girl, Isabella. How will this gorgeous Tortie celebrate? We wonder, ummm....maybe she will curl up on her Daddy's lap? Stretch out beside Daddy's leg? Or wrap Daddy around her little paw? All three, I've been told. Now, that's what I'm talking about. I have the utmost respect for you, Isabella, you've got him just where you want him. And everyone else too, by all accounts, you're quite the Tortie Lover Girl. Apparently. Not my words! I'm a reserved English Tortoiseshell shrinking violet type.

Sophie Ann - joined January 2012
I'm a very loving calico, a little shy around people I don't know, but I'm very sweet once I'm comfortable around you. I love to curl up on my moms lap, eat treats, I especially love wet catfood and cheese. I live in the country and I love to hunt mice, voles, moles and lizards. I have a brother and sister, both dogs, and I have 17 other feathered siblings (chickens). I usually spend my days outside (which I prefer) but when it's cold or rainy I get to come inside. I used to be a stray without a home, but my mom rescued me and gave me somewhere safe to live.

Ladies, it's Party Time!

Happy Birthday, Tammy & Happy Belated Gotcha Day, Ivy!

Today it is Tammy's birthday and, as you can see, she is poised and ready for one helluva party. She is a coiled feline spring about to go birthday crazy and leap into a vat of Schlitz...

Tammy is conserving her energy ready to par-tay like a wild cat!
It was also Ivy's Gotcha Day on 16th December and, sadly, none of us were in the frame of mind to commemorate this special occasion. However, I have been in touch with The Admiral via Twitter, she is full of Hubba Hubba Hubba Ding Dong Ding and thoroughly approves of The Ladies Of Autumn celebrations.

Ivy's knows she'll need her strength for later on the dancefloor
