Happy Holidays!

I know we all view and celebrate the festive season in different ways but I hope all The Ladies Of Autumn are warm, loved and full of your favourite foods. My focus, as always, is on the poultry. The abundance of succulent birds at this time of year brings out the writer in me:

Once in royal David's city
Stood a livid Tortie cat.
Denied access to festive poultry
Just made to wear a demeaning hat.

Ivy's Gotcha Day

Ivy, we hope you have a great day and don't mind if we postpone your celebration for a little while.

Farewell Admiral Hestorb

As a recent member of the Ladies of Autumn I was very flattered to be asked to join a society that counted Admiral Hestorb amongst its members. I was very sadden to read of her passing and offer these flowers as a token of my esteem for the lovely Admiral.  I was just getting to know you dear lady but admired you greatly. ~Scylla

Fly Away Home, Admiral Hestorb

Admiral's Mom, Carole, wrote today:

'My little one flew away to the Rainbow Bridge today. We, her Doctor and I have worked very hard to enable her able to enjoy her life and all the love she has received and that she freely gave back, but she was tired and whispered it was time to go. She flew away and took my heart with her. I will always love her and I will always miss her. She was the most loving girl I could ever have been fortunate enough to have. We have just sailed that sea of grief and tears as far as we were able to go together. Thank you darling girl, for choosing me to take care of you and love you these fourteen years. To all of her friends, thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring about my girl in the last stages of her illness. You have truly been a comfort. Much love to you all.'

Bess & Staff: *sobbing* We are so, so sorry. Our thoughts are with Lady Bianca's family and friends. She will be missed so much by all of us. She really was THE Lady of Autumn.

Birthdays & Gotcha Days

Hey, everyone! I have been catching up with some Ladies Of Autumn administration. In preparation for the New Year, I have been trying to update our birthday list. I have contacted all the Ladies with a Twitter and/or Facebook account. Anyone fancy a tickle?

Beautiful Lady Of Autumn, Mezzy, hasn't got a Facebook account or Blog so she will probably never read this. I met her on Twitter, her user name is @mezzymeddles. She is an absolute darling. Definitely one of the friendliest, most enthusiastic and genuinely lovable characters I have had the pleasure to meet. She has been a great support to my emotionally labile typist. Just wanted to say, Mezzy, we love you.

It's Admiral Hestorb's Birthday!

Many Happy Returns, Dearest Lady Bianca

Here she is. The one. The only. The original Lady Of Autumn.

It's been another hectic year for Admiral Hestorb. I gather she has spent a considerable amount of time supervising the outfitting of five squadrons of vessels used to escort ships across treacherous waters in what I would imagine was an extremely dangerous classified operation. She also got married on 29th October 2011 to her sweetheart, Nik. And when she is not on the high seas or in her love nest, Lady Bianca has been oozing autumnal charm all over Twitter and the World Wide Web via her many Blog concerns. She is one busy and beautiful lady. Everyone loves her. We hope you have a very happy birthday, Admiral Hestorb. May all your special birthday wishes come true (but no dedding of mousies today, don't want to spoil your appetite for your fancy Birthday tea, do you?).

The Ladies Of Autumn Blog Editor

Dear Ladies,

I wondered if anyone was interested in taking over the authoring and editing responsibilities of The Ladies Of Autumn Blog? I have not been able to give our lovely alliance the attention it deserves. I am also not comfortable with actively recruiting new members, I tend to leave the enquiries to trickle through to me. I am happy to alert people to the existence of our group but if people do not respond then I do not persue them. As a result, there has not been much activity on the Blog and no new members for a while.  My typist tends to spend more time on Facebook too and worries that the Blog is becoming somewhat neglected. Ideally, the new editor would take over The Ladies Of Autumn Facebook page too. The Facebook Group ticks along quite nicely without much intervention.

Please respond directly to this post or e-mail me at: bessthecat@facebook.com

Many thanks, Bess.

A Time To Remember

A Tribute to those who are no longer with us

Dear Charybdis & Jess both passed away in the month of December. The Ladies Of Autumn would like to send their regards to the friends and family of both lovely girls. We are thinking of you and your loss. Thousands of miles separate the members but the love we have unites us. It makes us stronger and can help us in difficult times. Well-fed Jess & Daddy's girl Charybdis may no longer be here but they will never be forgotten. Please have comfort in knowing that they will always be in our hearts.

Tallulah's Gotcha Day

Time to Party! It's Tallulah's Gotcha Day!

Ladies, today is the Gotcha Day of the gorgeous and very supple Tallulah. A special day for a special Lady Of Autumn. I summoned my Staff to bake you a cake, pretty one. It's not everything I'd hoped for but I've had a little nibble and it's adequate in the taste department (it may need a bit of extra Nip).

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from Joanie and Penny the tortie!
